Bora Bora

Yeah. That. We went. It was amazing. A once-in-a-lifetime trip... that we can't wait to do again.

Anne and I went to Bora Bora in July, and it was the perfect time to go. The air and water temperatures were fantastic. Bugs were virtually non-existent.

Traveling from Boston, we flew to LA, had a couple hours of layover there so Anne's sister and niece could come visit with us, then we flew overnight on Air Tahiti - we splurged for first class for this long segment so we could lay down and try to sleep. That worked out very well. We landed in Tahiti early in the day, took a short flight to Bora Bora, then a water taxi to the Four Seasons. The staff was waiting for us with cool drinks. We checked in and got a tour of the property by golf cart. The tour ended at our overwater bungalow. I expected the "overwater" part to be the best aspect of our accommodations, but these huts were outrageous feats of luxury. Soaking tub with a view of the water. Both the living room and bedroom had comfortable furniture and doors out to the deck. We had breakfast and coffee delivered each morning and ate on the covered part of the deck, then jumped in the crystal clear water.

We stayed at the Four Seasons Bora Bora and they really took care of every imaginable detail. We spent lots of time on the beach and in the water, but the concierge arranged for a trip to town, 2 different scuba diving excursions (sharks! awesome!). However, the best activity there is nothing at all. Enjoy the sun, water, sand and sunsets. Just beautiful.

Because we planned this as a one time trip, we arranged to have professional photos taken. It was beautiful, quiet, and romantic. Here are some of the pictures.
